Transformers: War for Cybertron

Soundwave

In a world filled with terrible licensed-property games, it is understandable for any gamer to be apprehensive when a developer announces their effort at turning a popular franchise into a game. Despite that many of these properties would presumably work well within the games space, many suffer from rushed release dates, bugs and almost unreasonably high expectations because of the source material. There have already been two Transformers games in this console generation, both of which were depressingly mediocre, so why should anybody care about Transformers: War for Cybertron? A Gamer Obsessed!

These past couple of weeks have been busy ones for yours truly. My hours at JB Hi-Fi have spiked considerably as one of my co-workers elected to take some leave, and I’ve happily been taking advantage of the hours while I can get them.

I ended up picking up one of the new Xbox 360 elites and I was able to get pretty much every single exclusive of interest for the system for approximately $100 on top of the console price itself (which at my store was $399). Speaking as someone who has long gotten by with microwave meals and grilling or roasting things, this seemed something outside my skill-range. I’ve never really regarded myself as a “cook” and my perception was that if I did try to make something I’d almost certainly burn it or ruin it in some way. That perception changed when I actually tried it. Read the rest of this entry »
