With two horror games beaten, I decided to do a one-off installment of me playing the beta of Risk of Rain. This excellent roguelike action game from Hopoo Games is still in development, but due to launch soon! Those of you who regularly check this site may recognize the title, as I have written about it before and helped out by producing a couple of trailers for them in the past. While I’m quite proud of how those trailers have turned out, I feel this game deserves more attention because it’s honestly just a blast to play and I’d like to see it do well. Hopefully this video will give you a better sense of what the game is about.
For those who don’t have the time or inclination to watch my multi-hour slog with Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, here is the highlight reel showing what I think are the most memorable moments from the game! Hopefully you guys get a laugh out of this!
This wraps up my play of Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs! Overall I liked the game, it had a lot of legitimate tension, particularly near the beginning. Ultimately it did lose some of it’s luster as the enemy became less of a mystery, which is something I feel Amnesia: The Dark Descent handled better with the sanity mechanic that prevented you from spending much time looking at the enemy and you were more frequently in actual danger. For now, Outlast remains my pick for best horror game of 2013.
I hope those of you that have had the time to watch my playthrough have enjoyed it! Expect a best bits compilation soon!
Fresh off my post yesterday, here is part 3 of my playthrough of Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs! This game is really starting to mess with my head something fierce, hopefully you guys will get a good laugh out of it at my expense!
So recently I’ve been trying my hand at doing my own “Let’s Play” video series on YouTube. It honestly amounts to little more than me playing the game and vocalizing my thought process at the time, but given I’ve started off with a couple of horror titles, those thought processes can be pretty erratic! It’s something I do purely in my down time, so it’s not detracting from my Starbound work in any way. I’m currently doing one or two sessions a week at most, but if there’s enough interest, I could increase my output a bit (again, purely as an unwinding thing at the end of my day). If you’d like to get an idea of what it’s like, the first game I finished with this setup was the survival-horror game Outlast. The video below shows off some of the scarier moments!
