I hope everybody had a great Christmas! I decided to spend my boxing day diving into Shadow Warrior, an old school style shooter from developer Flying Wild Hog, who’s previous title was Hard Reset, a game I’ve covered on this very site before! So far, I’m having a blast with their latest effort! If there’s one thing I truly love about the indie renaissance we’ve been experiencing these past few years, it’s that there are now talented studios out there making precisely the kinds of games I like to play. Truly, it’s a great time to be a gamer!
A great little fighting game that’s super easy to pick up and play! I’d been wanting to check out Divekick for quite some time, so when it dropped to a great price in one of the recent Steam sales, I nabbed it! I can highly recommend it if you’re looking for a solid fighting game with a twist! It really captures the essence of what makes fighting games great, while being inherently more accessible due to it only requiring two buttons to play.
Oh, and just in case you missed it, a couple of weeks ago I did another Risk of Rain video, this time with the finished game! Did I successfully beat it? You’ll just have to watch and see!
So, many of you are likely already aware that the Starbound Beta went live a couple of days ago. In the lead-up to the launch, pretty much everyone on the Chucklefish team was experiencing a heady mixture of excitement, and mind-rending stress. After all, a lot of our future plans will hinge on how well Starbound is received by the masses, and as an incomplete beta, it’s very easy to fret over people doling out unduly harsh criticism when the game doesn’t match up with with how they imagined it would be.
